The upgrade to 3.5 brings DDClip on pair with Sonic and ProTools A bit of feed back from a small independent public radio producer in Rocky Mountains: With the recent introduction to do nondestructive editing of highly compressed audio formats such as MP3 DDClip has become the one of the most powerful sound editing programs available on the market. DDClip's flexibility to apply itself to a wide range of hardware along with it's comparatively inexpensive cost drive home the value of this program to audio producers on a tight or practically nonexistent budget. Having worked with Sonic Solutions and ProTools I feel that DDClip is as close as you can get to a hyper-professional editing system without having to purchase thousands of dollars of special equipment to make the program function.

I am an underwater archaeologist and the producer of 'The Voice of The Sea' TV program on Turkish Television. I have been using your DDClip for most of my major sound editing and I am extremely impressed. I have been asked by the puremotion team, the programmers of editstudio program that I have been using, to write a review of the programs I use for my projects, and I have also included a short review of ddclip. Capt. Tufan Turanli, 3. DDClip was the answer! Our group was using videotape-based equipment... DDClip was the answer! Our group was using videotape-based equipment to do dialog replacement of Scripture videos. However, the manufacturer abandoned the line we were using, so we could no longer find the equipment to do our job. We had been looking to make the jump to computer, but there were no software packages that did what we needed within our budget. Then someone told me they had heard of a program called DDClip. I downloaded it and installed it. Within a half hour, I had determined that this program would do exactly what we needed. It was easy to use, the interface was no intimidating, and the price was excellent. Best of all, the tech support is very responsive to user inquiries and willing to hear and incorporate changes in the program. When their website says "We really need your feedback! - If you have any comments or questions regarding DDClip, send e-mail to..." they REALLY mean it!
Marty Lange 4. About DDClip I can only say that it changed my life dramatically! My name is Moises Davidescu and I am the chief technical officer of Realm Media Labs, a division of Realm Group in Vancouver, Canada. I am an electronics engineer with 25 years experience as a researcher, university professor, sound engineer, and computer programmer. I also teach a course in digital audio at the Centre for Digital Image and Sound, in Vancouver. About DDClip I can only say that IT CHANGED MY LIFE DRAMATICALLY! I started using it when it was freeware, and I was amazed that such a great piece progam, was available for free. I upgraded to the Pro version and have been using it since in all my projects. I would have killed to have something like this in my early years of sound tape edition, using a razor and an editing block. I specially admire and enjoy the beautiful and easy to use GUI, it makes complicated multitrack editing jobs a snap! I am so happy with it that I have recommended it to all my colleagues worldwide, and I encourage my students to use it in class. I also recommended the school to adopt it as the official multitrack digital audio editor for my course. Moises Davidescu 5. I had nearly given up hope of finding a multitrack recorder that would work on my ancient equipment... I'm running an early Pentium 133 MHz with a Sound Blaster 16. I had nearly given up hope of finding a multitrack recorder that would work on my ancient equipment, however your program has performed flawlessly so far and is very easy to use. Thank you for your diligence in creating this product. I'll keep you informed of any problems I have but I'm already pleased! Clyde D. Griffith Jr. 6. Getting the video card was the easy part. Now I needed video editing software... I bought a video card for work for the purpose of making short instructional videos for servicing our products. Getting the video card was the easy part. I looked all over the Internet for decent video editing software and I tested several different programs, and I have to say DDClip is the best working program of them all. I even sent feedback to the manufacturer of the video card suggesting that they contact SoftLab-NSK about packaging DDClip with the card, which would give the card a lot of extra added value.

I use DDClip primarily for compositing music and sound effects into sound tracks for animations. Why DDClip? DDClip is the most cost effective, easy to use yet powerful sound compositor I have found. It's non-destructive sound clip editing, superb project management features, and playback features are perfect for producing sound tracks. The interface is very functional and easy to use, giving instant quality feedback through its playback range feature and real time scrubbing. These features, coupled with the user definable clip alignment settings, make synchronization with visual clips a very straight forward process. The clip library and annotation features make the management process a snap. New features, including the native and Direct X effects capabilities, have extended DDClip's capabilities considerably. But its the core features of DDClip that make it most valuable to me. It delivers fast, high quality results and is fun to use. DDClip doesn't require hours of review after being away from it for a while. Best of all, DDClip is very stable. DDClip doesn't have all the fancy features of other, similar products out there, but it does have the important features I need. In addition, the clip marking and annotations allow me to convey important information to other people working on the same project. My hat is off to SoftLab for creating this product, and I offer my best wishes for their success. Charles J Dickinger 8. It doesn't come with a manual... Because it doesn't need one! My first use of DDClip was the demo version in January of 1998. I was immediately impressed with not only it's ease of use, but with it's price! My experiences proved DDClip had features, and was performing functions with audio files (my typical application), that would cost twice-the-price from any other software manufacturer to perform. It doesn't come with a manual... Because it doesn't need one! If that doesn't speak for the intuitive interface, I don't know what does. Since January 22, 1998, I have been the proud owner of my registered copy of DDClip... THANKS SoftLab-NSK!
Ken C. 9. I have used it for audio recordings and editing and I found it very easy to use... DDClip is realy great, great job indeed! I have used it for audio recordings and editing and I found it very easy to use but I don't use it offen because I need multi track recording. I'm sure that lot's of people would change to DDClip if it had this function! I'm using Cubase VST at the moment but I keep asking myself why is every thing so complicated in this program? Multi-channel recording is, for my opinion, the only thing you need to have a GREAT product, or better "the best product"! Keep going on and good job. PYROS 10. Software like DDClip makes the world a better place for all musicians! I happened to literally stumble across your program while doing a web search for shareware and freeware audio editors and I am simply amazed what you have put together in DDClip Pro. I am very glad I found your products. I would feel very reassured and happy with my purchase of a $200USD program if it were as good as DDClip Pro. I am a musician who does a lot of electronic dance and experimental based music and I was never quite happy with the price, complexity and functionality you get from the leading bundled MIDI/harddisk recording packages like Cubase and Cakewalk. Your product is a god send for people here in the USA who dont want to have to spend an ungodly amount of $$$ on upgrading their computers hardware/software and buying expensive and complex software packages that do not deliver what they promise. Your product works well and is incredibly easy to use. I immediately got up and running with results that i was very haapy to hear and see. DDClip Pro runs fast (I have a Pentium II 350 MHz with 128 Mb of RAM) which I appreciate and the built in equalizers and effects are quite a surprise. The effect you have included are awesome! You guys have to know that your product is fantastic, professional and something I ultimately think a lot of American Kids/musicians/dj's producers and commercial musicians would appreciate having in a pre and post production capacity. Software like DDClip makes the world a better place for all musicians!
John Price 11. DDClip does what it does extremely well... I have used this program to produce promo videos that were made available as a streaming video on a clients website. It was a simple video track and I added two audio tracks one music and one recorded voice over. I don't have the need too often to produce this kind of work, but I find this program very easy to work with. It is limited in the formats it will manipulate, but does what it does extremely well.
Gary Allain 12. DDClip offers the best combination of design, ease of use, robustness and price... DDClip has been an invaluable tool for a do-it-yourself filmmaker like myself. I cut and mixed the soundtracks to two short films, "Mirror" and "Millennium Bug" with DDClip LE. Those films have gone on to play over four dozen festivals and museums worldwide, including Sundance, the Ottawa International Animation Festival, Annecy and the Smithsonian Institution. I've tried many other non-linear, non-destructive editors on my PC, and DDClip offers the best combination of design, ease of use, robustness and price. Thanks SoftLab-NSK!

Jim Korgen 14. The editing and mixing tools are the easiest to use I've found... DDClip is the best audio multi track recorder I've tried. I've used it to record 3 full CDs of original music in my home. The editing and mixing tools are the easiest to use I've found. I've tried many programs and none come close as far as I'm concerned. Dave McLaughlin 18. I was lucky to discover this software, I recommend it to all my friends... DDClip is an awesome program. I use it to add audio to my animations because it is so easy to use and it allows for multitrack sound editing that's the best part. I was lucky to discover this software, I recommend it to all my friends, I also recommended it to my sound engineering and multimedia teacher and he was impressed with the software he did not know there was program that has both video and multitrack sound editing for PC users. I live in Oakland, California and make Hip-Hop music with my friend from Norway who sends me his vocal tracks over the Internet. Jake 20. With DDClip Pro came DDSound Volume Control and this I would be very happy to use... Thank you for the software DDClip Pro that I have been trying. I don't have the need for this advanced editor and can't comment on features, or price, it seems a very note-worthy easy-used editor, though. But with DDClip Pro came DDSound Volume Control and THIS I would be very happy to use. Amazing. Everyting I could have wished for in a "windows mixer" without using much desktop-space. And I'm shure that there are other audio-windows-freaks out there, with same wish for this mixer (if only they knew): It is ONLY useable one I have found to date.

Your software is good. Well it's not a software I use the most but it's a top one for me when I need it. Everytime I reformat my computer it's one I put back in my computer. One thing I like since I don't use it like a pro will do, it's easy working with it. So this is a big big plus when I need it. Just an example, take Photoshop for drawing, it's probably one of the best software for drawing but I don't like it since you must play a lot with it to understand most of this function. This is why I don't like it. So your software is a top one in my computer when I need it. It do what you want, it's easy to use, no need to learn a book to use it. Daniel Neault |
