Audio Features Important: Please read the table with differences between packages of DDClip

  • Up to 32 audio tracks
  • High quality 24-bit sound processing (in 32-bit float format)
  • Real-time audio effects (including support of any DirectX plugins)
  • Playback/recording in 8/16/20/24/32-bit formats at virtually unlimited sample rate (limited only by possibilities of soundcard being used).
  • New! You can use audio files with different sample rates in one project starting from version 3.5 (fast and high-quality algorithm is used for resampling in real time during playback)
  • Support of high quality audio files (up to 20/24/32 bits at any sample rate) for audio clips and export file (mix of all audio tracks to resulting audio file)
  • Dithering for playback and export files (optional) with rectangular, triangular and Gaussian p.d.f. noise
  • Auto-compensation of DC offset of audio files (optional for playback and recording audio)
  • Optional removal of clicks at start/stop edges of audio clips (using short FadeIn/FadeOuts of 0.01 ...100 ms, with linear/optimized bell curve profile, independently of volume profile)
  • Sound statistics: shows maximum/average/RMS level and DC offset of sound being analyzed
  • New! Spectrum analyzer: shows spectrum of sound being analyzed in different modes
  • Multiple wave files export for preparing audio CDs (see online help included with the program for more details about that)
  • Export of audio with any sample rate using fast and high-quality resampling algorithm (almost no harmonic distortions are made even when resampling 24-bit audio), real-time preview is available. For example, you can record and mix audio in 24bit/96 kHz professional quality and get final result in 16bit/44100Hz for audio CD, or with any other sample rate
  • New! Export of audio with recompression when saving audio to an external WAV/AVI file (you can select any ACM audio compression codec installed on your system; for example mp3 codec). More details

DDSound Volume Control: additional application included with DDClip for controlling volume/mute controls of audio mixer devices (soundcards). It is much more comfortable in use than standard system volume control, and can be automated from DDClip. More details

Audio formats supported for real-time playback: WAV, AIFF and AVI, compression:

  • Linear PCM (no compression)
  • ADPCM/IMAADPCM (4-bit audio)
  • a-Law/u-Law (8-bit audio)
  • mp3 (files with both mp3 and WAV extensions)

New! Compressed audio formats are supported starting from version 3.5 only. All compressed files are being decompressed during playback of project without use of any temporary files. Note that decompressing requires additional CPU power, so your computer must be fast enough to use compressed audio in your projects (400 MHz or faster CPU is highly recommended for mp3 playback).

Important! The program contains no mp3 decompression code, you must have ACM mp3 codec installed in your system (typically file named l3codeca.acm stored in the system folder)! Note that hacked version of mp3 codec allows use of only one instance of it, so you won't be able to play more than one mp3 file at the time with hacked codec!

mp3 codec is not included with DDClip, it can be installed with some other software, for example Windows Media player version 7 or later (please visit Microsoft Download page to get it). It is already included with Windows ME and Windows XP.
